Iowa Neonatal Quality Collaborative
The Iowa Neonatal Quality Collaborative (INQC) successfully merged with the Iowa Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (IMQCC) in 2024 to form the Iowa Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (IPQCC).
The state of Iowa has experienced numerous Labor and Delivery unit closures resulting in increased travel time and volume surges at other facilities. Seeing an opportunity to enhance regionalization of care, ensuring Iowa babies and families receive the level of care they need as close to home as possible, the IPQCC began the first statewide quality improvement initiative around neonatal Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) in January 2025.
The effort is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in their goal of supporting new and existing Statewide Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (PQCs).
